We we lucky to be there during the time when the grapes were being picked, or ready to be picked, for wine making. It's really a site to behold when you see rows upon rows of grapevines with the grapes still on them. The grapes they pick one year might not be for sale until a few years later, depending on the winery.
The villas in the area were amazing. Such wonderful architecture, colors, history and style. The villa we stayed at was s combination of the main house and the rental annex...which was an entire house in itself! However, there was a cottage for rent on the property also. I wasn't even aware that the beautiful stone house I viewed out my bedroom window was the "cottage" until later.
And here it is!
Well, I'll have to add one more picture here. It's one of my favorites.
Here is a sample of the many countryside scenes. You can even see the Tuscany villas dotted throughout the landscape, along with the geometry of the vineyards.
