Curves in the Landscape

I hate to say it, because straight parts of the landscape are so much easier to install and get it right, but I'm a sucker for curves.

How many times have you seen a curved walkway, patio, or even planting beds and really didn't get too excited? Probably lots, and probably because the curves were not designed or installed correctly.

For the most part, you have to work with a pure circle and a radius when creating curves. That's not to say you can't add straight lines too, but they should serve a purpose. One such purpose might be when a walkway joins a porch or a driveway. It can begin straight for a short distance and then the curves can start.

About Me

My Photo
Landscape design has been an important part of my life for many years. Whether it be creating a master plan, designing a small garden, selecting paving materials, or choosing plant material for color throughout the year, I design landscapes that are extremely creative and colorful. It is very satisfying to take a property and either enhance it or create a totally new picture. I live and work in New Jersey, but I also provide online designs.
