Travertine pavers are a paving material that I have been specifying recently. I was introduced to them last year and I have to admit, I got very excited.
First of all, they are beautiful. What could be nicer than natural stone....which is what they are, butcut into regular shapes. They are much thicker than typical travertine tiles. They are cool to the touch, which makes them great for pool paving. They also resist freeze-thaw conditions. They have many other great features too, such as blending well with many types of other hardscapes.
They also have a few different styles of pool coping to choose from. The wider ones are very attractive. However, if your pool is curvilinear, you would be better off with the narrower pool coping pavers.
I work with the Andes Collection, who imports from Peru. Originally not all colors had matching pool copings, but now that is not the case. In addition, they have introduced a new color. I had the opportunity to see it (along with most of the other colors) today, and it is beautiful. It is called "Blend". On my site, I have a page on Travertine Pavers, where I go into much detail. There are now seven colors to choose from, all very natural looking.
As far as pricing goes, they are more expensive than pavers, but less than natural stone.
